    OK, here is my contribution, (I don't do EA's.)

    In MT4 you'll be able to include 'templates' and 'custom indiors'.

    Templates have a .tpl file expansion.
    Indiors have a .mq4 or even a .ex4 extension.
    (.mq4 is in the programming language which somebody has written the code for.... And .ex4 expansion is the compiled indior which MT4 can really use) You can put either at the indiors folder, but the .mq4 is the only one a developer can alter.

    Now, in case a .tpl template calls for a custom indior in the chart, then you must have that customized indior packed at the experts/indiors folder to the template to have the ability to use it.

    Progr:
    As you know, the templates go into the templates folder;
    My Display gt; Local disc: gt; appliion files gt; (your MT4 broker) gt; templates
    That is the .tpl template folder.

    Indiors:
    Custom indiors go into the experts/indiors folder;
    My Display gt; Local disc: gt; appliion files gt; (your MT4 broker) gt; experts gt; indiors

    If it is a .mq4 file, then you will need to shut MT4 and re-start it again. When you do so, MT4 will compile the .mq4 file into a .ex4 executable file which MT4 can use. You will observe this indior in the listing when you go to Insert gt; Indiors gt; Custom towards the surface of your screen that is MT4.

    You've found it. Now, you may use the search bar near the top of the page for certain indiors, etc..
