Preferred broker list you speaking to, looks to me much more like a promotional list! Perhaps I am wrong...
Oanda. I have found them awsomethey don't get much mention about here but when they do it is always optimistic. I have also had great results from GCI.
I can speak from experience. I have had some unfortunate experiences with FXCM, which they've tried to straighten out. However, I'd like to have the ability to trade the news and that appears to be nearly impossible with them, and they admit this.
As a result I have tried 2 other brokers. MB trading has practically instantaneous action on orders at all times, including high volatility. Unfortunately their platform could make a Saint join AA, and they just have one level of levrage 1:100.
The other broker, FX Sol, I have just tried once during high volatility (last Friday's FOMC) and they had been marginally slower than other times but they did receive the orders processed. Their platform is quite user friendly and enables hedging, the company allows you to select your level of leverage, and there is no required leverage amount for carry trades.
I'd go to http://www.forexbastards.com Oanda has a fantastic rep above most all brokers plus they have micro lots that are excellent to help anybody new to dip their finger in the water and examine exactly what it”s like to exchange with real money ( yet only make or lose pennies if you want to). The platform stinks though. GFT includes a terrific platform and can be on eof the sole brokers to not have any complaints regarding their platform. As a broker, they also have a fine rep. Interbank fx is also delvelopping a good rep, but that just word of mouth and not from people that I understand exchange for a living and are dependable.
Hope that helps.
Thank you for the link,
Just if some people knew that sooner.
