You could be a trader, where you trade for a firm, typically. Kind of like the FXCM app mentioned above. It's possible to grind out a living through scalping and it might lead to things for you. Fantastic luck!

Does someone have any experience working as a FX prop trader that could give some type of feedback or personal opinions on the area, like requirements (I guess the typical history of 6 months trading live?) , overall expertise, etc..

I think you want to explore the finance management and/or portfolio management world...I do not know how it functions in the united states, but I think that having a CFA is a major plus, but typically companies working in the financial industry are interested more in cash and how you are able to make gains rather than certifies or levels...

Here in Egypt, all it takes is an employer who would be convinced with your skills to make money through their capital, and that is it....It is much simpler here in Egypt since the industry itself is very very young and people are unaware of numerous financial instruments and their risks vs their rewards. . .They barely understand stocks, so if you have good knowledge regarding stocks, bonds, options, futures monies, you are a superman...

    Thanks,

    Nader

Nadar, quite insightful observation. I think I'm moving! Here in the US there's so much career/resume corporate mumbo-jumbo b.s. that you need a CFA just to fry an egg!

I have been trading the EUR/USD lt;- USD/CHF negative corro with decent sucess in a mini accounts. Whipsaws, although large drawdowns

This might be off base but why would you want to trade for somebody else? That is unless they are likely to mentor you. In case your sucessful trading your acount subsequently be your man. If you need capitol, get a job. If your a sucessful trader your bonous should be your preformance. You'll be much happier in the long term. IMO
I work for a big corporation. I don't suggest it. Not in this business.

    Dam the Man!!!!
