Ever since Oanda moved to Australia they've been hassling me to move my older US account across. I never bothered because the spread is no great for scalping. They offered to tip $100 in if I put in at least $200 so Im back trading live again for the very first time in a year. The spread is no great on currencies for intraday scalping however the gold disperse is pretty competitive so Im using this instrument.

Its been a good break, fantastic spending time doing other things and living, well, a better life really. I used to crave trading however I have not missed it all, It's left a bad taste in my mouth but Im thinking that a less obsessive egy and mindset might be a good thing. We will see

I feel genuinely sorry for your experience Doug.

However, if after 9 years you're still blaming your broker....gosh....thats not good!!

It is your fault for not closing the situation when it moved against you.

Sorry but there is no way to sugar coat . Newbies are assumed to do it, maybe seniors.

Our brokers supply us a service but you can't forget that their primary business is to function as competition.

Should you give them the chance they will take advantage of it. As they did !!!

Once the place went and you did not close it you gave your soul to your broker.

People do not understand this to master Forex is to master yourself.

I lost a small fortune before I discovered this very simple but chy lesson.

Now I can trade at any broker without any difficulties.

With Oanda I have to trade more swing and standing. FXCM and IB I can trade smaller timeframes.

Brokers and the market in general can't get me anymore.... BECAUSE I MASTERED MYSELF !!

Great article. It's indeed a battle for self command and even after 10 years the battle continues for me personally. I enjoy this challenge much more now that the lows are no longer so crushing.

No need to feel sorry for me, I have recovered from my losses and live a happy, fulfilled life. I trade longer time frames, mostly EOD and that has made a big difference. Not sitting glued to the display and using a whole day or even longer to await the next trading opportunity makes it much easier to remain calm and adhere to the rules

Here are my trades so far this week and how I responded to losing trades by simply re-entering at predetermined amounts based on rules. I spent more time doing this informative article than putting these transactions

    bought Eur/Usd at 1.0970. Target 1.10 stop 1.09 40

Its the next attempt to split the 1.10 resistance level. The market is 60% brief. I believe many stops are placed above the 1.10 HS resistance and that market makers will soon be targeting this level to take out those stops. For all those reasons I feel that the probabilities prefer the long side and I've bought below resistance.

But I might just as easily be erroneous and resistance forces price down. I might be right and lose if my time is wrong and price drops first to prevent me out.

Who cares, its only one risk managed trade right?

DMM closed up shop in Australia so I found myself in the market for a new broker again. I opted for pepperstone. They have the execution rate, lots of instruments including commodities, energy and indices and are based in Australia. Having a commission of $6/lot (with IB rebate) combined with ultra tight spreads they were also best value. Customer service with a dedied account manager. Now, lets see if I could capitalise on that and make a profit.

For the first time ever Ive added a commodity to my watch list, cocoa. I believe I could really affect this market based on my own intake!

Somedays are better than others. It's extremely easy to stay calm once the trading day goes like this one. The challenge is, to possess the same peaceful, serene mindset when things aren't going as easy.

Made it in the top 20 most profitable for the month on FF. It was a really tradable market with USD up trending the entire month plus the election surprise which provided an superb buying opportunity for quick returns. Even if the USD/JPY fad continues to 1.19 which I feel it does,I really don't think I could possibly get this high in the ranks and theres probably a good factor for sustainability. It was a really lucky start and Ive returned more than I hoped for the year let alone the initial two months. I'm in the enviable position of having the ability to trade with the house money today after quadrupling my first stake.

No, the bitch still has most of that. Given that I started that account with 10K over ten years back and that I started this account using 1k two months before, the chances of me getting my 20k back are pretty slim. Do not worry, If it happens Ill be creating so much noise everybody atforexintuitivewill hear about it
