Thread: Bitcoin technical analysis

My brother has 4 bitcoins, but he lost their password... He mined them once bitcoin was around $200-250. At that time he proposed we buy like 100-150 bitcoins, but I denied... that was stunningly stupid choice at my end and now I truly feel sorry about it. He always seem to know where the money is. Work smart, not hard is just one of his favourite quotes...

You have been manipulated if you own bitcoin.
I began to buy Bitcoins too late, spring 2016, at a price $4xx - $6xx and stopped premature 2017 at $1100. Sold ~70% in 13500 - 18500 region. Keep and moved the rest.
I like to be manipulated this way

Imagine the opposite , if you shorted from 18500 . The ones makIng the money are the vendors. What is the value of a Bitcoin ?

Hi to Cableguy, tostaky06 and all,

Thank You for the Urge tostaky06! I have to admit that without a hard-and-fast method in put my trading resembles Mr Bean goes into Market.

Unfortunately I can't show much technical justifiion in this 1day chart, but that I suggest substantial levels.

If you have a look at the 1week chart (the attached chart is 1day) you will notice MACD has crossed below its signal line. This is bearish for the long term. In this bearish scenario (such as 2018, at least) we expect the market to test that top TL near $12k. The are a good prospect.

Another likely upside target is $18,600 in which a long term Fib extension line functions as an attractor. If the bulls become delusional, as they are likely to do, then they might trade to C that is close to the ATH in a B-wave before the devastation of wave takes this decline to its target at $2,000.

In my view, decline below $2k would be hard to sustain. Too many true believers, such as yours truly, have buy orders down there. Also, $2k signifies a Fib 0.89 retracement of the entire price history as $5, so that is a structural limit to how low this will go.

If it goes, well, I've a buy order for all bitcoin in existence at $0.01, so that I wouldn't shed a tear if this order becomes triggered!

As the folk saying goes: Don't confuse value with price

the worth of Bitcoin is censorship-resistance, permissionless transactions and a way to solve the issue of digital double-spending. Along with a war on cash, Bitcoin will remain useful and valuable. As more and more users buy bitcoin and sustain its own speculation market, the greater its price can be bid. Of course, over cycles of progress and decline.

If authorities and centralized authorities pervasively adopted Bitcoin, then it might imply they have abandoned anti-money laundering policies and the associated KYC/AML. At that moment, Bitcoin would lose all utility and value.
