I believe one successful method of investing is to trade in longer timeframes (1hr or longer charts) maintain your postion (at least 2 weeks) and trade the trend employing a MA. But, I've read articles earlier that say things like never hold a position over the weekend, or close your postions before major news statements. If you're trading with longer duration charts and close your rankings on Friday and re-open on Sunday, and close your postions before news, and re-open after news, you are boosting your trading costs on account of the price of this spread. Seems like the only other option is to utilize a high stop (likely at 75p or longer ) and trail it and ride out the news announcemnents and also hold your rankings over weekends. Do any of you maintain postions longer or fourteen days, and if so, how can you manage major news weekends and trades?
