Thread: NZD Interest Rate Statement

  1. #1
I wanted to start this thread in historical chart, but I thought it'd be better to open an additional thread.
I wanted to say thanks to khaldonm and BK and maxy for their tough work for bringing us a lot of information like historical charts for trading news with penetration and potential....

BTW, this nzd interest rate in late year could be intersting, because this really is full year and NZD didnt raise their rate, maybe they will do something that time? I suppose this is going to be a fantastic move, if they increase, maybe 150 pips, I expect. Any comment from you Professional will be apprecaited.

I'm talking about NZDJPY, not NZDUSD here...

NZDUSD said to be priced in already... NJ is large looser in the carry carnage. Room to go up.

    ooopps... not a recommendation.

As anticipated, the [RBNZ] has raised the official cash rate by 25bps to 7.5% and followed it up by repliing its now standard a further tightening might be needed line. Strong domestic demand remains the Bank's key concern, this viewed as raising the inflation outlook. About the [NZD], the Bank says it expects a slower reduction because of stronger growth - it has raised its 2008 expansion prediction to 3.1 percent. [NZD/USD] is modestly lower after the as-expected choice, though neighborhood contacts report fantastic bid interest in the 0.6800-10 area. Note Nzd/Jpy backing from good offers around 80.00. The cross is again likely to establish a substantial driver of this pair, and should the firmer Dow be followed by Asian stocks, a push greater is likely.

This is the very best I will get...

[NZD/USD] dips below 0.68 on post-Bollard remarks as a few traders consider tone as less hawkish than expected. The CB head noted they opted to get a 0.25 hike in order not to shock markets.

    See you on following fiasco!!!

A comment is that NZD Increasing rates, and NZDJPY Heading down equates into another wave of carry trade unwinding
