Thread: Changing TF is way too slow... buy workstation?

My charts have complete of indiors and they're getting unacceptably slow...

My PC specifiion: (Windows 10 64 bit)

NormallyI open 4 charts 1 offline chart (2H or 12H). When I do this, my system already reaches complete resource usage:

When I kill one offline chartI can save a little resource but it's still high.

Even if I open just one online chart, shing TF is still way too slow. I reduced max pubs in history/chart into 10000/5000. (reducing further may affect the truth of the indiors.) Greater TFs are relatively OK, but for TFs under 1H, it takes really long time or not reacting as if MT4 crashed, although system resource usage isn't that high.

that I am considering buying http://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/...10-workstation using Xeon E5 CPU 32BG ram. My question is will this resolve my performance issue? I began thinking it might be MT4's functionality issue rather than my PC's hardware functionality... Even if I buy powerful Valve, will my charts nevertheless be slow?

    Thanks,

You'll see a performance bump for certain, but it will not be ground breaking. Offline charts and custom indiors are performance killers. Do you have something which paints candles/bars? That is a performance killer. In case you have access to this code restrict the pubs being painted or pubs in which the squiggly lines are being drawn because those get attracted every tick.

My new screamer top of the line Dell Precision mobile workstation with a quadcore i7,16gb ram, and SSD does not handle mt4 that better than my piece of crap old as crap ASUS transformer with 4 gigs ram and an intel portable centron chip. Certainly not in magnitude compared to the prices of these 2 machines. Where I see the difference is I can have a few progr running on the workstation and everything runs fine whereas the older/slower machine starts choking if more than mt4 and perhaps 1 browser window remains open.

Try to eliminate a few or many indiors and see if it helps. I am curious, just how many indiors would you have on a single chart?

you might also attempt MT4 with charts and indiors on an other computer and see if your computer is the issue or not. What's your CPU speed?
Perhaps near other unnecessary running appliions.
