    Ah grasshoppers...

As long as you look at major news (like non-farm self explanatory) as complimentary trip to Vegas but without the free drinks and the cute cocktail chickies, you will be ok.

Lets take EURUSD now for instance.

At 6am ET I had a short sign on the EURUSD. Entry level was approximately 2640.

My principles let me seek for entrance at the amount up to 8am, i.e. 30 minutes prior to trade balance figures being published.

Since EURUSD never struck 2640 by 8am, I eliminated my requests and waited for news announcement to come out.

At the point, I am just waiting to find out how the market reacts to the news and re-evaluate the entire image again after volatily has settled. It usually takes 15 to 30 minutes for volatility to settle down to normal levels depending on the news.

At the moment, after seeing the EURO producing new highs and retracing all the way up and make new highs, I'm happy I remained out of this trade as it might have been a small loser or a scratch at best.

This is the way I fix my trading to significant news announcements. I'm more comfortable trading under less volatility and less speculation.
Im sorry Italiansharp, I cant ch you. You own a broker which does not allow you to put an arrangement just a minute before the news ?!

If you have such a broker then I guess that this broker wants only you cash...

I have burned just on the EUR (read it all wrong) but got my losses back and a bit more shorting the retracement on the Swissie. (James and Dial have just thrown their hands in the air, wondering if they're wasting their time with some of us LOL). But I did watch to get a pin that developed on the 15 minute chart before I played. (Do I hear another loud sigh?)
I know of at least a full time trader who never plays with the news, it is possible to watch some critical discussions on this link from the discussion.

    (Hope that functioned)

Great link, thank you so much for sharing. VERY INTERESTING DISCUSSION. I'm glad many of the recommendations the experts made belong to my trading style.

I feel much relieved for not investing the news...

The blonde young trader in the video stated that if he's some open position getting into the news, he shuts most of it and retains some receptive contracts FOR THE FUN.

No way, my agent is just nice!

I will put orders anytime I wish to, its just my personal trading rules which dont let me trade 30 mins prior to and 30 mins after the information.

    Clear today?

I believe what ItalianSharp is saying is that...

He also Places an Entry Stop Order based soley on his system irregardless of any impending news

If the cost doesn't reach trigger his Entry Stop Level at least 30 minutes before a major News Release, he cancells the order and now is solved to wait ~ 45 minutes until he'll consider entering a New Trade.

45 Minutes since 30 Minutes BEFORE release 15 Minutes AFTER Release is his NO NEW TRADE ZONE.

It is not about his Brkr taking 30 minutes to fill a Mkt Order.
