    1 Attachment(s) Dear Forexfacty associates,

today I observed a loosing trade in detail.
The lowest quote of the 1H pub is 1.66584
and the SL was implemented at 1.6656

    that's a gap of 2.4 pips
What's this, did you discovered something similar ?

1 Attachment(s) Hi Bro, not positive if you are using Oanda, if so, I think you are experiencing doubts about this. For Oanda, the candles doesn't reflect the actual bid/ask price of the moments, thus by adding bid and ask lines, you will know how your SL are executed. Try get to lower timeframe to look at the bid/ask lines for better prices. (Eg, 5 secs)

PS : I got this advice when I called Oanda, when my SL got hit ridiculously.

Call them if you have further doubts.

What was that the spread in the time? My guess is 2.4 pips.

1 Attachment(s) Thank you Gumrai and kinspk ;--RRB-

I solved the price from the min/max chat at a really low timeframe (1min).
It showes the lowest price was in fact 1.66557 that is 0.3 pips following the end.
    Until today I didn't know a candelstick-chart really doesn't signify the
    absolute lowest quote.

    Kershey

I truly think you should alter your broker

Lot of crap about various time period candles demoning different prices!!!

    Lowest price was .66571

    You have been done!

Should you called the broker, they are gonna blame the slippage on a news release or something.
Once I was stopped out 16 pips prior to the SL price using a cyproit broker....funny sufficient I quit the firm that same day

It's slippage, it happens to everyone now and then. I accommodate for slippage by being a bit more conservative with my SL and TP orders. Before I have always had SL executed late by slippage, two - 3 pips normally and so I place my SL usually two pips under where I would have set it in the past, together with the expectation of it shutting two pips greater than edued. It is good for me. I just do this if the market is volatile though and on shorter time frames. Whn swing trading I have yet to encounter some slippage problems.

FWIW I'm with FXCM and found them to be the finest of the ones I tried. Oanda were fine too but their charts lagged for me during peak times. FXPro were not a good experience, slippage happened a lot together. DYODD no need to stick with a single bucketshop.

I concur - best to use a broker with very little or no slippage though if there was slippage it must still have been listed as the lowest/highest price. If it had been me I would be kicking up a real stink together with my broker!!

1 Attachment(s) Here are two other ones. AUD-CHF and GBP-CHF.
GBP-CHF was straight following a news event, so it may be.
The matter is that all these 3 posted transactions
occured in a row on a live account
and 2 of them went straight back to BE later SL was struck.
