Thread: Confusion over upcoming NFP data and technical indiors

So I had been doing my study today and nicely of course saw the 180k stated figure for the NFP which, if it does turn out to be the case, will increase the value of the dollar. This being said therefore should entail that going long on the EUR/USD for. . .say. . .the next few hours is stupid, not so? However after having had a quick glimpse in the technical indiors on Investing.com they all appear to revealing Buy or Strong Buy. What's this going to become a profitable investment? Surely going on the EUR/USD is a lot more brighter if you intend on closing your commerce, say, until the weekend. I am a bit of a newbie and your help explaining this would be greatly appreciated!

    1) The NFP is an integral event
    2) It's popular and broadly followed
    3) The hype and news before the event is a circus
    4) The objective is to cause the maximum monetary harm to the maximum amount of accounts.

Maybe it's possible to take this 2 pictures and figure it out yourself.

Tuesday - Spanish Unemployment data pushed up it
Wednesday - It retraced back to where it jeopardized from Spanish Unemployment and wait ADP. Then ADP employment alter data push it lower.
Thursday - Much change in economic events, combine awaiting NFP. (Forecast:180K vs Past:292k gt; Keeping Eurusd afloat as forecast price in weak US data)
Friday - NFP data beat forecast bringing the Eurusd down.

Hope this help. Best of luck.

Nice visual explanation. You have showed me the way to analyse weekly effect of good news on market. Thanks once again.

The NFP is a fundamental impact event. Technical indiors don't take fundamentals under consideration, they're strictly based on mathematics, not on individual reaction and as such they're useless during such events.
