I must know being from Canada and all, however, Im from the west shore, where the economy of BC and Alberta's oil do just fine, its rear east thats hurting us. Also, about cross border shopping, it was big a couple of months ago when the loonie was so high, but many people cant stand the long waits and the hassles at the border so they dont bother. Anyhow, Im out of my long on CADJPY in 113.40, looking to re-enter, possibly in 113.00

It's been my personal hunch that the sudden rate cut and standard loonie weakness has been somewhat forced by the BoC due to pressures by exchange-rate sensitive businesses. USD/CAD in 91 cents going into the bestselling hunting season was about to drive half the nation across the border to US malls and decimate y-o-y retail figures for Canadian businesses. The oil/C$ correlation, that is in virtual lockstep for years, abruptly goes AWOL. Oil shoots to $99, stabilizes above $90 for two months, and the loonie drops 1200 pips (top to bottom) against the dollar?

Once this fear-driven dollar rally peters out, I think that the loonie will be one of the strongest benefactors (together with the kiwi aussie). Parity giving way seems like it may happen any second, and I really don't see the dollar index breaking 78, let alone 80. Value buyers have stepped in and set a floor on what but the pound. We can see new short-term highs on CJ tomorrow (if no surprises from Fukui tonight).

Wonderful trade Jeff. You've got any suggestions on places to buy good property at a fair price in Canada?

Tons of people are purchasing from U.S. websites and the lineups continue to be long here in Ontario.

Definately not here from the vancouver area, home prices are out of control. Im convinced the prairies continue to be cheap, but too cold for me over there. Anyhoo, im trying to get back in a long on CADJPY, I still think 114.50 should get hit shortly. 112.85 is a place of getting back in. I just cant figure out how to put chart pics in here....

Try Ontario, its moderately booming and demand will always be there as we makeup 40% of Canada's population.

Jeff, save pic out of MetaTrader, click answer and click on the paperclip to upload a document.
