Thread: MT4 question about input in live trading.

    Hi,

can someone tell me if it is possible to alter the input in the EA while the transaction is happening?

For exemple, if I set the trailer cease to 20pips in first time, also, I want to alter it to 30pips, can I just open p EA window at MT4 and simply alter it manually? Will this activity will apply immediately for the current trade?

I gave trailer quit as exemple but it could be anything else like the Take Profit or the Break Actually...

    Thank you very much!

Its probably ok, if the ea is coded properly, youl be resetting the ea, with most thats fine, if its not, the ea has bugs

    Hi Trendchaser,

first, thank you for your quick answer.

Therefore, basically, you believe that the EA itself doesn't have to have some special code in it, but, rather, just be coded properly.

Quite simply, it doesn't require any special code to reset the EA, is that right?

    Tanks!

When you hit 'OK' you reset the values. It basically resets the EA using the new input signals.

Well, if the EA have floating order(s) and you also want the new TrailingStop to take effect to the currently floating order(s), the the EA Should be able to continue handling that floating order(s) after the EA reseted(because of input changes)
