Dude, I have been trading for quite a long time and your advice does not make sense.

Do you understand how hard it really is to earn rebates to cover the full or the majority of the transaction costs? You have to use limit orders (provide liquidity) and also for daytrading, you'd wanna be damn good in programming as well as trading to make it work.

As I also know it, you also will need to be well capitalised and the inventory has to be liquid since filling becomes a big issue.

Now considering that the OP is asking for MT4, they're obviously not funded and/or experienced enough to get a direct access broker. I am intentionally assuming that they don't have the programming experience either to pull this off.

I am seriously asking myself should you even know what you're referring to...

Maybe it is the ambiguity, I am not sure. Please enlighten me as to where I have missed your point.

That I daytrade many US markets myself so I would really like to hear the nitty gritties of how you achieve this.

However, trading stocks is potential with MT5
I only submitted an order of 5 lots to the SNFE in MT4 using the Interactive Brokers MT4 bridge. May have been any exchange I wanted. So it's technically possible.

Welldude because you stated this thread is about mt4 and if you don't believe its possible then that's your problem, you have been trading for quite a while that you ought to know whether its possible yourself. But just incase your not smart to figure it out am here to let you know your not the only seasoned trader here. Trading direct access has its own restriction of owning a account before the benefits outweigh the disadvantages, but as I wrote. Here is the http://www.lightspeed.com/, if you can read English I would like you to have a look at the commission per share below the tabcommission, I then would like you to start the tab next to it calledmkt centre and check for how much it costs to add and take liquidity. Anytime you missed it check out theEDGA andBOSX places that charge almost nothing fortaking liquidity and if you don't understand what that's you can Google it.

Next, I want you to sign up for a demo accounts together with lightspeed. And put your hotkeys up to trade like a pro. That is just dumb and idle if you don't understand how to prepare your hot keys to route then that's your problem Do not go saying you want programming to create this work. As liquidity, who on earth in their proper frame of mind for exchange an illiquid stock? Here is. Since there are loads of them out there, if you don't understand how to pick stocks that are liquid afterward again, is the problem. You really do know what that's ideal for a start try choosing on stocks in the SP 500?

That having been said, I'm the one who's seriously starting to doubt your abilities as anseasoned trader. I really don't know whether you're trying to misguide others or whether your plain dumb.

Had to bump this thread, as Im considering opening up a daytrading account to trade US equities.
Like the OP, I had been curious as to whether this was possible using MT4.

Someone mentioned that it'd make an awful daytrading platform, but im curious ?
I have used ninjatrader and that I find it 'buggy' and slow in comparison with MT4 (despite seemingly becoming a lot more sophisticated and also a platform of choice to many pro traders).
You can load up charts and flick involving instruments and timeframes easily in mt4 compared to ninja.

Nevertheless, I have also demo traded using a platform called'DAS TRADER' and another called'instaquote' which I collect are more the type of platforms that many equity traders could utilize?
They are equally LIGHTNING fast and very good, although the big problem is that you can't use custom indiors on the charts. You can't use any code whatsoever.

I have some custom indiors in mt4 and exactly what I'd enjoy is a platform such as'instaquote' ('appropriate' daytrading platform/very fast) that also has the ability to use custom code.

Anything like that exists? Ideally all in 1 platform so that I dont need to be spending one company for a feed and another company for their platform etc..

    cheers/

    HI SCOOBS

I have been using gkfx.com for spread betting on mt4 for the last two decades. They are here in London and FSA regulated. Spreads are not bad, they have a high number of both UK, US and European stocks on offer. Mind you their presentation has a limited number of shares on offer. The only drawback using mt4 is that quantity indior is not realistic because I use ninjatrader.

    Kind regards
