Thread: EA for manual backtest with MT4 strategy tester

Hello,

This is a very fundamental EA I am working on, here is your very first version.

You can use it to manually backtest egies with MT4 Strategy Tester. It only works with Strategy Tester, and only in Visual Mode.
Right now you can manually buy or sell, close all places, close all longs or all of the shorts. SL and TP can be set from the Expert Properties.



Added features will be added later.

I'll try when I'll some time, but not certain if I can do it because MT4 in backtest manner works bit different as normal...

Nice tools, could you please add, e.g I need open position 200 lots but broker limit is 50 lots per click, I must click 4 x to receive my order , is it possible to start 200 lots position in a single click (the tools available automatically 4 x 50 lots)...

that I want to set e.g 20 buy-limit pending order or other pending order from current price or establish entry price value that pending order start from this and put pips involving pending order.

I know this thread is suspended but I have run into a bug for when/if that the dev comes backagain. While using this as a manual back-tester, together with the shield profit option, the 1/2 close button kills the backtest. Also, changing the template hides the EA. The way I have found around this is to load the template while the back-tester is loading. You've got to be quick but it functions. I'm not sure if any of these bugs are understood. It's a long thread and I did not read it all. Wonderful EA though.

Thank You for the feedback. Bug is fixed now, really it only occurred for me if I wanted to 1/2close a 0.01 lot position, no matter of protect profit mode.
For the template shift problem, I have no idea. You may attempt to set the default backtest template, the template you need to use, so no need to modify.

Thanks for the update. Your EA is intelligent and great.

I attempted to check to the real trade chart (connected to chart as a customary AE) but found some bugs, with default or template blank chart:
1. When I change time frame, it generated new blank window itself, every time.
2. When I eliminate this EA, it shut the chart automatically.
3. Close All button EA will shut all the the trades using same Magic Number, all pairs
4. Change the magical number in property, new sterile window that was EA appeared.

I am using Demo on ICMarkets.

Thanks. I added a little change for 3., but it's not tested.

1. As I mentioned before, I suspended this undertaking, as I don't actually have the time to work with it.
2. This EA was created for guide backtest on MT4, therefore it was designed that way. On backtest there is not any method, to have different emblem positions, and you also can't change timeframe on the go, there's not any point to take out the EA from the chart, etc. Using it on actual trading has other aspects which weren't considered here. Initially it had been restricted for visual backtest usage only. Then someone asked, and I removed the restriction, BUT please test before you use, and USE it on personal risk. I DON'T think it's very good idea to use it on account!
