Thread: FXCM.. 26Pip spread on a 3pip pair...What is wrong?

I have been demoing for quite a while now and just discovered that in my FXCM presentation, on a 3pip spread it provide me 26pip instead. I have called them and there only answer is we can't observe the problem from there end and that it should read and execute 3Pips rather than 26pips. Of course put in and they indie to un-install again. Has anyone out there have had this problem before? Can there be any foul play on the part of the broker? It has held me back from trading reside and have not gotten my confidence up on the part of the broker. Any suggestion is appreciated and thanks.

Have you tried their proposaluninstalling and reinstalling?

I would not think it's foul play. Certainly not on a demonion. What would the motivation be?

Thank You Jason and Bill. Yes I un-installed it and re-installed it and it gave me a mean of 26pip spread. Thats when I called again. I do not have to tell anybody here if your dealing with small increments on pips as profit, a 26pip spread from the beginning is touch to coincide. I've been able to transcend that 26 pips to get an earning but at times just barely apparent even.
The only reason I am with FXCM is since I had an account with ITreadeFX.com plus they when stomach up. I never got a motive why. I read allot on dishonest Brokers and upon experiencing this, I held out of live trading. I've funds with them which has been transfered in my previous Broker (see above).

On another note, does any one know of a brokerage house, similar to FXCM that have available a program to see my charts on my new IPHone? FXCM is in the process to bring out one, but is there anybody else out there providing the software for MT4?

Thanks for both on getting back so promply. Incidentally, I have been Demo trading and use a combination of indiors and suggestions from forexintuitive.com. I must look into this site at least 10 per day.

    Once More, thanks.

Hopefully it was a 1 off ?? Or have you noticed it a few times.

At News / Enormous move times I have seen 14pips temporarily for EJ's disperse, but couple minutes back into okay.

Been using them for 5years, they seem to be fairly straight even had a entrance slide in my favour today therefore the slippage seems to be fair to.

Firstly liquidity isn't that low on any of the majors to require a 26 pip spread except at the initial 2 hours of gambling on a sunday/monday.

    Second, everything else is new?

    Hi Lag,

Can you remember the exact time and currency pair you watched this occur? The marketscope chart lets you produce a historical tick chart to view the spread at any given period.

Additionally, a demo account can't simulate slippage because the orders aren't implemented against real liquidity being supplied from the banks.

Please feel free to message me using all the details also in the event that you want.

    Jason
