    Hi there,

I've been Using GFT for a While. In Australia, so needed to switch to UK entity when I could no longer trade through US entity. I was fighting to log into my 'new' accounts, therefore that I re-installed MT4. Now I'm having data issues. For instance, from 5m chart, I have no information between 12 Jan 2012 and 10 October 2012. BUT, I've all information for 2011 and 2010 and earlier. I didn't assess how far back it went.

They say there is nothing they could do about this, they just supply six months of information (I used to have years of information). I pointed out that I've less than 6 months of information. They say it is around Metaquotes and doesn't have anything to do with them. I really don't have a Metaquotes connection; they do...

Anyhow, so I am wondering whether there is a way of getting this information into my system. I have looked at the folder program. There's a 'history' folder. It contains a 'downloads' folder, which contains a folder 'EURUSD'. It's lots of documents with names like EURUSD_1973_12_81063f87a9e6e35c67660946280688de. Dat In this case the document is for 1973 - that I can tell because there are documents for each year by the appearance of it. Most of the documents are between 140 and 160 KB. THE 2012 FILE IS ONLY 68 KB. I feel that this is where the difficulty is different, but I can not be certain. I deleted the document and asked new history from the history centre. Still just 68KB.

In MT4 alternatives, server tab, there is a check box for 'Data centre autoconfiguration'. By default it is checked. If one unchecks it, then it requires a 'Data Centre'. Does anybody know anything about it? Any thoughts are welcome. Thank you

On GFT Forex's MT4 platform, what is the spread for GBP/JPY and AUD/JPY? I get 5pips on other MT4 brokers.

Is your spread on GFT MT4 exactly like what's seen on GFT DealBook360?

The spreads are the Exact Same on both DealBook 360 and MT4 with GFT. As I look at it in this very second, the spread on GBP/JPY is ranging about 4.1 to 4.6 pips and AUD/JPY is 2.0 to 3.0. Granted that's at 1:30pm ET and I was just looking at them for about 30 seconds combined, so the spreads might be either bigger or smaller than that at different intervals of the evening.

Can you encounter any problems or issues with GFT MT4's position-based platform? Tools and can EA scripts work on GFT MT4?

I didn't have any experience with them but only got off by the chat together and I was advised they don't accept retail customers from US and if I open account and after that come to US I shall be unable to trade, kinda weird for me.

GFT Forex as a working desk broker (counterparty to customer transactions) is no more competitive compared to ECN brokers. I won't call them a scam because they've always been a market creating broker and you ACCEPTED that state when you opened your account.

Personally I have closed my account with GFT and proceeded on to ECN brokers only. Currently utilizing IC Markets and Armada Markets and going to fund Global Prime. There are many other ECN brokers like LMAX, Pepperstone, AxiTrader, etc.. You are able to loe their individual conversation threads on forexintuitive.

    Thank you !

Can you discuss what execution time you have for large orders (20-80 lots) ?

Today I had yet another order (GBPUSD) on 62 lots which was opening 113219 milliseconds (113 seconds) and final 16860 milliseconds (16.8 seconds).
In my estimation it just comes out of all probable borders, I am just not sure whether it's the actual filling problem or they try to eliminate successfull trader.
Anyway I have made the decision to move the most of equity to a ECN broker. Just need to determine to which one.

Does anyone know not overly expensive ECN broker with chance of connecting C EA and which I can download tick data from ?

    Thanks.
