Thread: IG Experiences?

  1. #1
    Hi,
I wish to get expertise from traders around IG to get ECN acoounts!! What about withdraws for large quantities, is there some problem ?
Executions, spreads widening or canceling pending orders and platform freezing while large events (NFP)?

Can they give trade signs for intraday?

    Thanks

Never used them myself but going with this connection they are down the base of the main brokers in terms of ratings. If I am not mistaken all legitimate brokers will have wider spreads round big news events such as NFP so great luck in finding a broker that does not.

I had a demo account with IG some time back and decided to provide the binarys a go, largely the 'one touch' monthlys, so naturally I made a few demo bets, only to find out they where useless due to the demo account only lasting 14 days. Such is life.

I have done for about 8 years with no issues and use IG in UK. Sure things go wrong about news releases since Mitch stated above.

IG do not have authentic ecn accounts. They are a market maker and all their goods market is created by them. They've something they call d.m.a (direct market access) but, these tools are actually anything but guide to market orders. I.G does place an order in the underlying market and produces a cfd to market to you. The fee they charge rather than spread mark up is exorbitant, around double the commission cost to trade with most ecn brokers. I really don't understand how they get one trader to market this crap product to. As a market maker, I have no problem with them, good regulated and aggressive broker. I left money in their platform and had no troubles withdrawing it. I wanted to trade there d.m.a Currency Market therefore that I was very disappointed about exactly what it was they were actually supplying

I really wish I knew. Ive been looking for more than a year. I need the tight ecn spreads and also the no conflict of interest but its hard to find one in which the trading costs after commission are significantly less than that of fixed disperse market makers like IG. Im in Australia and I've narrowed it down to FXopen au and I.C markets for value but I do not really expect either of them so I continue looking. I believed I had finally found a excellent cheap broker in interactive brokers cause there commission construction was really cheap but then I downloaded a demo and the spreads are nearly fixed at a full pip for EUR/USD. Other brokers are charging $7.00 a lot round turn that's not competitive with I.G markets changeable spread which sits at 0.8 during liquid instances.

If You're not buying 10 pips per transaction like me, then the spread and commission may not be because important. Here is a good list of all ecn brokers http://www.100forexbrokers.com/stp-ecn-brokers

    Good luck

I have not attempted fxopen, currently I'm with IC Markets and so far they have been good. I have experienced drop out but they have increased server capacity in a week of it occurring. I have applied for withdrawal of money before their cut time 12 pm AEST and obtained the money the following day for bank account withdrawals and around three times to get credit card refund. In case your in Oz stay local negating o/s withdrawal fees, $7 per round trip is pretty regular, I think you for a discount using IC to $6 when your trading volume permits but frankly one pip in your direction will cover the commission /- spread. Scalping ai not my game though...

Thanks for sharing your expertise. This really helps me. Ive had the capital ready for over 6 months but only have not managed to take the jump and fund an account. It seems as though that I checked out 50 brokers, 3 times over! IC were the front runner but only because they did, in fact, offer me a discount commission. Add that to your humble recommendation and I am finally pleased to proceed.

So if I toast the account like I have done lots of times, its gon nana be all your fault
