View Full Version : Volatility Impulse (VI) trades
Keeping the promise given before, I begin a final thread and will bill EURUSD analysis on the basis of Volatility Impulse (VI) method to get a week so we will able to talk about its main ideas. We will utilize H12 time frame and trade one bar only. It should be said that H12 time frame has been discovered as best one to trade from after-effects of volatility splashes.
The major idea of the method is easy - to trade in surpassing the volatility limit plus there are two rules of this method:
1. To rade by reverse way from a signal of this Volatility Worth Indior (VVI) for next bar; to start a place on the opening of adjoining bar and compulsoryly to shut a position to the closing of the bar when a takeprofit or a stoploss aren't triggered;
2. In easy case scenario we have to bypass all consecutive signals after a triggered stoploss. That scenario corresponds to a powerful effort to form a new fad and we have to wait for its weakening. *In advanced case scenario we have to trade if adjoining bar colour is Magenta only (we have to bypass all successive blue signs after a triggered stoploss ). Blue signs appear as a principle on the tendency birth but Magenta ones do on the spent trend.

Here are results of backtesting in a variety of pairs for final month. Thanks for the system, nevertheless, I believe you want to explain it a little more with a few screen shots as well, to explain just what you do and how to exchange it.
The stoploss degree of this machine is SL=0.75 *Typical ((High-Low),25 pubs ) but takeprofit amount is TP=2*SL.The coloured number is empiric. The VVI indior relies on complied nonlinear calculations so it can't be posted here but we could use the modified PCCI indior with normalized values as proxy. Please see the attached code for TS. Have you got the Meta Trader 4 template with this?

No, Value1 is the digital filter with subsequent parameters 10,8,40db,0.08. PCCI_M Value=Value2 and ploted as Cyan.
No, Value1 is your electronic filter with following parameters 10,8,40db,0.08. PCCI_M Value=Value2. OH, I see what you are saying okay Value 2 is your plot and value 1 is the response or filter. Do I have that right?

The folder named Volitility V1 is put in:
C:/Progr/Metatrader or your broker/Profiles
The three indiors are place in:
C:/Progr/Metatrader or your broker/experts/indiors
then close your Metatrader and then reopen it. And select in the profile list Volitility V1 which should bring up the 12 hour chart and a 4 hour chart.
The 4 hour is feeding the 12 hourso it shouldn't be deleted. Just minimize the four hour and apply the 12 hour.

Used exclusively the PCCI_M indior already gives an edge in a trading. However we should use an extra filter to not trade against a strong tendency (to exclude a few PCCI_M signs ). It is based on the digital filter. It is the well-known band pass filter with the following parameters:
p ass band cutoff frequency P=10; stop band frequency D8; stop band attenuation A=-40dB; pass band ripple R=0.08.
Maybe just a bit late my query but I only read your thread by now... if you are using a band pass filter then you should have two more parameters, yet another pass band and stop band freq, and when not the exact same another stop band attenuation? ... or are you currently having a high pass filter?
