Thread: The story of a dog

  1. #1
Once there was an old man that lived on a farm. He had an old dog that was for many many decades with him. He aided him in his manner and was a fantastic friend to him.
He'd bark if the fox came to the chicken, and he'd bring him his slippers in the day.
That was the old man had, and he was pleased with the dog.

One day the doctor told the old man he had a severe illness and could most probably die before his dog.
The old man wondered if he should take his dog with him if he died, but loved him too much to do this type of thing to him.
There was a younger family, who was already bidding for the plantation looking to move to it after the old man died.
He talked to them and they agreed to take the dog. He managed to show the dog to bring the batter to get the new head of the family before he passed.

So today the old man was gone, but his dog still continued for the new masters. The batter were brought by him, when the fox came, and he barked.
Sometimes he might just bring one of those slippers or just look at the father upset, but he did precisely what was expected of him out of his old owner.
But, alas, this was not sufficient for the new family. They had been young, and they still had many thoughts, what the dog should and could do.
If he could bring me my slippers he can also bring in the newspaper the father said.
If he is able to bark if the fox comes then definitely he can even bark when there's a burglar. said the wife.
If you can do all those things then he can chase around outside with us stated the children.

Hence the next days, the father kept putting the newspaper in the puppy's mouth to show him what to do.
The mother got pills out of the vet to make him more awake, so he'd hear more in the evening time.
The children got him a leash and pulled him around outside all day.
Happy they had all done their very best to get what they believed ideal out of the dog, they proceeded to sleep content.
The following morning when they caught up, the father called out to the dog, to bring him the batter.
    But he didn't come.
He put in his crib, not moving.
The black ink in the newspaper had poisened his gums. His heart had been diminished by the pills in the vet. Him had choked.
He was dead. He'd never bring anybody slippers.

The familiy discarded the dog and went to the pound to look for a new one.

    ------------

Ten pips for anybody who will tell me what the story is all about (hint: it's got something to do with FF) and why I wrote it.

Could overmilking/exploiting/greed be 1 key word?

Looks like a parallel with having a great (and simple?) By making it preoccupied system and then destroy it.

What exactly was the dogs name? Certainly he must of had a name? Poor nameless dog. Did all those things and never got a name. R.I.P little fella.

    B-I-N-G-O. ;P

Naw, I actually had been tempted to mistreat Old Yeller, but then thought I'd likely get injunctions filed against me and whatnot. . I am scared of Hollywood, they consume children and burn money to stay warm.

. . .if you would like a deeper meaning:

do not temper with something that is intended to perform a very simple task effectively - or in terms of FF, do not take a good system and ruin it by anticipating it to do more than it was intended for.

    1. Utilize the internet to browse newspapers. You will save some trees, the ink is nothing more then a pollution source, and thirdly an online sign up is much less costly

    2. Steroids are good for athletes but not for dogs. Hey, the Olympics are coming

    3. Don't attempt to leash a free soul

    Don't take me seriously
